Today the wind was slow, visibility excellent and the Faxaflói was almost as calm as a lake!
While our ship Andrea, which is one of the largest wildlife vessels in the north atlantic ocean, is getting a beauty treatment at the local shipyard we sailed on the Rose (“Rósin”). The Rose is specially build and designed for Special tours by the craft masters at Hafnarfjörður for wildlife excursions at Faxaflói bay.
It was a combination of really good weather, visibility and our fast moving Rose which made it possible to search an area twice as large, than otherwise, on the bay.
We did see quite a lot of seabirds, mainly northern fulmar, and Snæfellsnes peninsula wore it´s Sunday best confirming good weather tomorrow which an unusually good view of Snæfellsnesglacier.
Unfortunately we did not have luck with finding marine mammals so a complimentary booking was offered for another try on the house.
