Tour at 09:00

Mild weather.

We found Seven Minke Whales and got very close to about four of them. A few puffins were there feeding and we got a glimpse of a Gannet also.

What an amazing tour we had this morning! We had very good sea conditions today and the sun was almost shining on Faxafloi Bay 😉 We sailed for about 20 minutes into the whale watching area and we found our first Minke Whale about 30 meters away from us. We then spotted 3 other Minke Whales and stayed with them for about 40 minutes. We then decided to sail further because we were told there were Dolphins further out at sea. 10 minutes later we found them and what a show they gave us !! We estimated the number to be around 40 or 50 White Beaked Dolphins jumping around our boat for about 20 minutes! It was amazing, everybody took great pictures of those spectacular animals having fun around our whale watching express, Rosin.

We started out watching two Minke Whales. Then on our way towards the third one we spotted two Harbour Porpoises lazily swimming around. After the third Minke Whale we took a chance on finding the Dolphins again and hit the jackpot. The Dolphins were great, jumping and bowriding alongside the boat.

I still am not sure how many Minke Whales we saw. At least 9 and perhaps as many as 14. Some from afar and some within 10 metres of the boat.
