Minke Whales and Harbour Porpoises

15.May 2015

Tour at 09:00

Today we sailed from the old harbor in Reykjavík out into Faxaflói. After about an hour of sailing we had seen plenty of seabirds, such as Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Arctic Terns and even some Puffins, and then we were lucky enough to spot a Minke whale. We got a nice look, and decided to head further out. We were lucky and managed to see two more Minke whales, and at least 5 harbour porpoises. We then headed back home and saw plenty more seabirds, like Gannets, who were dive-bombing into the ocean, and some Arctic Skuas.
Tour at 13:00 We sailed out again, but unfortunately we didn’t find the whales this time.
