Today the bay of Faxaflói was unusually calm. The sun was hanging low over Reykjanes peninsula and a very slow wind from east escorted us as our captain set course to northwest.
We were just north of Grótta when we ran into several pods of white beaked dolphins. They came frequently up to the surface around the ship while they were feeding. They gave us good exposure and appeared close to the ship on several occasions.
Further to the west we came across several gatherings of seabirds that were feeding so we searched those location well until we found some white beaked dolphins that were too busy to notice us.
