Sailing into Faxa bay is always an exciting adventure, and this morning was no exception. The feeding grounds were calm as we sailed further into the bay, but although it was cloudy on land, there was good visibility. Soon, an eagled-eyed crewmember spotted some splashing from afar. These were White-beaked dolphins, a large pod that swam very fast as they hunted for capelin. We approached them slowly but steadily and managed to get in close proximity, which they did not seem to mind as they were busy feeding. This was a beautiful display of these toothed-whales that showed great skill hunting in the these waters, the amazing Faxa bay.

The wind blew from the west as we sailed out from the Old harbour. Increasing amount of birds appeared further into Faxa bay which is always a good sign when sailing the feeding grounds. There, small fishing boats earned their livelihood, were whales fed often as well. We got closer to our location when suddenly a couple of dorsal fins appeared in front of us. White-beaked dolphins began to hunt near a large flock of birds, swimming in all directions feasting in the rich waters. They were easy, circling going around us, approaching us in their cheeky way. There was abundance life in Faxa bay in which we are always eager to venture into.
