Sailing in Fantastic Weather With a Pod of Dolphins

15.Feb 2019

It felt like spring came to Reykjavík today, when we took Andrea for our whale watching tour this afternoon. Even though everything is sill covered by snow the sun felt like a promise, that the long darkness is soon to be over. Just when we reached Faxaflói, we saw huge flocks of northern fulmar circling over the sea surface. Luckily they were in company of a pod of white-beaked dolphins. These stayed with us most of the tour. It was a pod of several adults and a juvenile. Every now and then one of them was breaching, it was amazing and this in in the fantastic weather which gave us in addition a beautiful view of Reykjavík on our way back to the Old harbour.
