A slight breeze followed us out into faxafloi on our whale watching trip today but only making the smallest of waves and the sun was still shining so it promised to be a great trip!
This morning the water was calm and the sun was shinning when we went out of the bay. On our way to the feeding area of the whales we spotted some White beaked dolphins.
The 14 pm tour had even a curios Minke whale investigating the Rosin (express). It was Amazing the Minke whale dove under the boat and circled around the boat.
That was very exciting 🙂
Another calm day with a super relaxed humpback whale, many Minke whales and playful pods of dolphins riding underneath the boat!
Tour @ 10 am
The morning seas welcomed us with strong breeze and choppy waters, yet we were very lucky to encounter, soon after entering the bay, a pod of White Beaked Dolphins. Tour at 13
We had to sail out quite far until we found our first Minke Whale on this trip. This animal surfaced once and then preferred to stay under water for some time so we kept on sailing and found some White Beaked Dolphins.
This morning there was wind from the north east which caused waves from the same direction. Our passengers were warned of the conditions and the status was set to “rough”. Having sailed to the north west, getting close to mountain of Akrafjall…
This morning the wind remained slow resulting in calm sea, almost clear sky and sunshine. We headed out to north west and before arriving to the feeding ground of the whales, a gathering of birds was sighted. We came closer and found minke whales coming up and moving in different directions…
9 am and 13 pm tour
Sunshine in Reykjavik 🙂 We started our trip with a wonderful view at Mount Esja and Snæfellsnes Glacier which is the center of the Earth, at least according to Jules Verne and his story. 10 am and 14 pm tour.
The weather conditions were excellent today 🙂 We saw around the 10 Minke whales and at least 20 White beaked Dolphins. One Minke was surfacing next to the boat,.
Everyone enjoying the same snack-time 🙂
Another morning with calm sea, good visibility and almost no wind at the bay of Faxaflói. The glacier at Snæfellsnes showed its kingdom as our captain set course to the north west. Soon we found three or four minke whales that came up in different direction around the ship.
