While heading out to north west, on the bay of Faxaflói, a couple of minke whales crossed our path on their way towards the north east.
It could not have gotten any better all of the 4 species 🙂 It is safe to say everyone was astounded by our tour from Reykjavik today!
We had 3 different species on this morning trip that is a good way to start the week :)
All of a sudden a large pod of white beaked dolphins appeared.
Several minke whales swam fast past us and came frequently up to the surface.
On this trip we found one of the White Beaked Dolphins family from yesterday again. They were riding the waves in Faxafloi bay where it was very windy. They dolphins had a lot of fun going back.
It was quite windy in Faxafloi Bay this morning but the sea condition was alright to go out Whale Watching. We were very thankful for our overalls on board they kept us warm and dry
On the first tour today the wind was slow from west and the sea remained calm. When we got to the feeding ground of the whales we started seeing gatherings of birds, in different spots on the surface of the sea. From out of nowhere some fast moving white beaked dolphins appeared and our captain halted the ship.
