A nice sunny afternoon in Reykjavik and calm sea…these are the best conditions to go out Whale Watching
It was a rainy afternoon but the whales kept being under the surface.
We took a long stretch around the bay and it looked pretty mystical, as there was fog out there.
When leaving the harbour a lot of cormorants and eider ducks were sitting on the docks. Later on we saw flocks of eider ducks on the bay, as well as fulmars and a couple of gannets.
The whales didn’t show up though unfortunately.
The ride was quite smooth even though there was quite big waves at times.
What a great tour today with lots of White-Beaked dolphins greeting us when we got out to the bay! We sailed from Hafnarfjörður again as yesterday, because the sea conditions were a lot better on that side – and our passengers of course got the nice overalls to keep warm and cosy while out in the Icelandic weather!
Sightings: Dolphins
Birds: Kittiwakes, Gannets
