Due to the wind from north, this morning, the tour was made from Grindavík
We headed on Faxaflói bay, with slow wind from north east, heading for the feeding ground of the whales.
Today the the visibility improved, over the course of the day, so that the Snæfellsnes peninsula and its´ glacier became well visible.
The strong wind from north east, that reigned the bay this morning, slowed down and the sea became calmer. This happened over the course of the wildlife excursion which improved the conditions in the search for marine mammals. There was a moderated presence of seabirds around the feeding ground, of the whales, and several northern gannets hovered over the area.
Today we sailed from the port of Keflavík, as the wind was from south west the coast of the Garðskagi gave us cover.
Complimentary tickets for everyone and lots of birds 🙂
This morning we sailed from the harbor in Reykjavík, and the wind was blowing quite strongly. We sailed out and saw a few different species of seabirds on our way, but unfortunately we didn’t spot any whales this time.
There were plenty of seabirds, such as Cormorants, Fulmars, Eider Ducks, and even plenty of Puffins! Although the birds were plenty, there were not many whales out, although we did spot some Harbour Porpoises.
