We were lucky enough to witness one of the biggest geomagnetic storms of the solar cycle! The show was simply unbelievable, the lights kept dancing and dancing getting very bright and showing lots of different colors
Unfortunately our whale watching tour is cancelled due to rough sea conditions
It was exciting to be able to go out after several days of really bad weather. We had some wind from the east and also some wave movement on the way out. Soon after we came to the south west of Akranes we saw a pod of white beaked dolphins.
Today we sailed from the old harbour in Reykjavík, and even though we still had some swell, the sailing was pleasant for most of the tourists, even though some of the more sensitive ones felt queezy. We spotted a pod of White Beaked dolphins, about 10 animals total. We stayed with them for a good while, and then returned to Reykjavík.
It´s terrible outside and the waves are really high so we decided to steer clear of the sea and stay inside next to the fire.
Icelanders are well known for being obsessed with the weather but it really is an unusual winter this year. It just won’t stop snowing 🙂 So now Reykjavík is all white and fluffy.
Today we sailed from the harbour in Keflavík, and we had occasional snowstorms in between. After a while we spotted a small pod of the White Beaked Dolphins.
Unfortunately we have to cancel our whale wathcing tour today due to bad weather conditions.
