Both our whale watching and our northern lights by boat tours had to be cancelled today due to bad weather conditions. The forecast looks much better for the 20.01.2015 so let’s hope for the best 🙂
We have a wonderful sunny day today but we warned our passengers that the sea conditions are quite rough in the Bay.
We are happy to have great conditions tonight for our Northern Lights by Boat tour
Today the wind was from the south east and increased in the course of the day. We got very good visibility and saw the surrounding coastline including the Snæfellsnes glacier. As we set the course back to the south east, we did not get the rough sea that was expected so…
Finally we had amazing sightings again! The forecast had been promising for the past three days but the Northern lights had nonetheless eluded us. Yesterday the forecast looked again very promising and we were so excited to sail out.
Today the sea condition, on the bay of Faxaflói was set to very rough as the wind was from north west. Our captain Gunnar set the course further north than usually, thus evading from the major waves. Once the course was changed to south west, and eventually to south and south east, the ride became quite smooth.
The Northern lights forecast looked promising yesterday evening and the sea was alright as well so we took Andrea out on an evening cruise. The snow is very persistent which is a bit unusual for Reykjavík and it has been very cold as well.
Last night the Northern lights forecast looked promising but conditions at sea were very rough so we decided to go on a bus tour instead. It was very, veeeery cold but we were excited to go since the forecast looked promising.
We had already left Reykjavík for the harbour in Grindavík when we got a call from our captain, that there had been a problem in the engine of our boat…
The weather conditions are good enough to sail for our Northern Lights tour tonight
