Into the Blue from Reykjavik

20.490 ISK /

5,5 hours

Snorkeling is something you might not have imagined doing in Iceland - but it sure is amazing! In Thingvellir national park there is a fissure called Silfra, where you will be able to snorkel between two continents in the rift of the tectonic plates of North American & Europe.

Tour description

A breathtaking experience of snorkeling in the clear waters of Iceland! The tectonic plates in the national park have been moving apart at the rate of 2cm per year, creating this sub-aquatic world for us to enjoy. The water comes from one of the Icelandic glaciers (Langjökull), purified on its journey through lava for half a century, giving the water crystal clear visibility up to 100m.

Experienced and qualified diving guides will provide you with all equipment and information needed. The temperature in Silfra is between 2-4 degrees Celsius (brrr…) but thanks to the invention of drysuits you will be nicely insulated.

Whether you are a beginner or well experienced, everyone that joins this tour will be struck by the breathtaking experience of the clear waters and rock formations.
