We have to cancel our Northern Lights by Boat cruise tonight 03.02 because of bad weather conditions.
The sun was shining pretty strongly on the bay today and we left the Harbor with very good visibility for whale watching.
The forecast was perfect for yesterday night but unfortunatelky the lights did not show… Complimentary tickets were issued for passengers to try again 🙂
Again we were lucky enough to see the lights from our boat. We saw the lights so many times recently and the forecast looks very good for tonight as well!
The sea on the Faxaflói bay became calm after last weeks storm, thus making this a rather smooth ride today. Shortly after we reached the feeding ground of the whales, our captain got a request from the Icelandic coast guard to perform a helicopter drill with the cooperation of our ship Andrea.
The sea turned out to be a lot smoother than expected today so the condition level was set to 2. rough. The tour turned out to be a sunny day with good visibility, we saw the glacier at Snæfellsnes, on a fairly calm Faxaflói bay.
Last night was a successful Northern lights evening again 🙂 They were not as extraordinary as the evening before but still very beautiful. They stretched across the sky right above the mountains which always makes for a spectacular view.
Unfortunately the sea conditions are too bad for us to sail for our whale watching tour today…
